Showing product reviews on your cart upsells

What it is

Slide Cart can now display star ratings and review counts on the recommended (upsell) products shown in your cart. Adding this social proof — real ratings from real customers — helps shoppers feel confident and encourages them to add more to their order.

Ratings appear right on each recommended product, next to the title and price (for example: ★★★★★ 4.8 (126)). They show up on both in-cart and next-to-cart upsell placements.

What you'll need

This feature displays ratings that your review app has already collected. It works automatically with review apps that sync their ratings to Shopify:

• ✅ Works out of the box: Judge.me, Fera, Reviews.io
• ⚙️ Works once enabled: Yotpo and Stamped — you'll need to turn on their "sync ratings to Shopify" setting (Stamped may require a quick request to their support team)
• ❌ Not currently supported: Loox and Okendo — these apps store their reviews differently, so their ratings can't be shown here yet

You don't need to connect anything or copy any keys — as long as a supported app is installed and collecting reviews, Slide Cart will pick the ratings up.

How to turn it on

1. Open your Slide Cart dashboard.
2. Go to Cart editor → Upsell display.
3. Tick the "Show product reviews" checkbox.
4. Click Save.

That's it. You can see how it looks in the live preview on the same screen before you save.

Good to know

• Only products with reviews show a rating. If a recommended product has no reviews yet, no rating appears for it — so your cart never looks empty or broken.
• New reviews may take a little time to appear. Review apps update Shopify on their own schedule, so a brand-new review can take a few minutes to a few hours to show up in the cart.
• The look matches your theme. Star colours are tuned per cart theme so the ratings blend in with the rest of your cart's styling.
• It's off by default, so nothing changes for your store until you switch it on.

Reviews aren't showing up?

Run through this quick checklist:

1. Is the toggle on? Cart editor → Upsell display → "Show product reviews" should be ticked and saved.
2. Do you have a supported review app? See the list above — Judge.me, Fera, and Reviews.io work automatically; Loox and Okendo aren't supported.
3. Does the product actually have reviews? Products with zero reviews won't show a rating by design.
4. Give it a little time. If you've just installed a review app or received new reviews, wait a bit for them to sync to Shopify, then reopen the cart.
