Installing Slide Cart in your theme

After installing Slide Cart in your store, you can get the app up and running in a few simple clicks.

Certain themes already have a cart drawer/pop-up cart built in. If your store has one, you will need to disable it before enabling Slide Cart.

The option to disable it is generally found in Theme Settings. To access it, head to Online Store > Themes > Customize.

Every theme is different, but in most themes, you can find the option to disable the theme's cart by going to Theme settings and looking for the Cart type under the Cart menu, set it to Page and save your settings. This will disable your theme's cart.

Some older themes might not have the Cart menu or Cart Type option available. Instead you can try looking for the "Add to cart notification," disable it, and save your settings.

While we are in the theme settings, we would invite you to enable our recently launched App Embed. This embed feature is a fast and easy way to improve the performance of Slide Cart and integrate it with your theme.

Enabling it allows the Cart to load as fast as the other elements on your site and to function with compatible currency converters and other compatible apps (Slide Cart Integrations).

Now that we’ve cleared the floor for Slide Cart, we can head to the app settings dashboard and enable it via the toggle switch located in the header. This will activate Slide Cart in your live store.

You can also change the settings to match your theme better. If your store has a dark color scheme, you can use our dark mode. We also recommend setting the accent color to your theme’s primary color. All this can be achieved from the App Settings > Appearance > in the Basic Settings section of the app.

It is also important to mention that if you are using other apps that can affect the behavior of the "Add to cart" button, then you must review the settings and make sure to set the behavior to "Stay on the same page" or "Do nothing" instead of "Go to cart".

A very common example of those apps is PageFly or GemPages. In these cases, you must also enable the integration toggle in the app's Settings > Appearance > and scroll down to the Integrations section:

If you need any help with the app's configuration, please don't hesitate to reach out. We will be more than happy to help.
