How to Set up Progress Bar / Tiered Rewards
The Rewards Bar is a great way of incentivizing your customers to increase their order value in order to obtain different benefits.

Locating Tiered Rewards
On the left navigation panel, select Cart Editor, then Cart Features, and finally click Progress bar.

You can also find a shortcut on the home page as part of the setup guide

Enabling Tiered Rewards

Reward Types and Set Up
- Free Shipping
- Order Discount
- Free Gift
Setting up the rewards only affects what is shown on our bar. The implementation of the rewards requires a direct setup with Shopify.
Free Shipping
This is uniformly managed via your Admin Settings > Shipping and Delivery page.

From here, you have most likely set up your Shipping Zones. In offering Free Shipping, you can assign the minimum order price amount in the section here and this is assigned the FREE rate unless you specify the charge:

Something nice to know: aside from Free Shipping, some merchants use Free Standard Shipping and Free Express Shipping as progressive rewards in the rewards bar. You just need to add another rate that has a higher threshold amount than the previous one. For example:

Order Discounts and Free Gift
For Order Discounts and Free gift, setup matching automatic discounts on Shopify
You can use our shortcut or alternatively, create discounts directly from your Shopify admin page at the "Discounts" page.

Creating Discounts on Shopify

Order Discount - Amount off Order (Automatic)
This is one example of how to configure the order discount on the app dashboard.

But in conjunction to this, the Shopify Discounts set up must also be created as this essentially ensures the functionality of the discount in cart. Here's a quick guide:


1 Select Automatic Discount.
2 Add your label for the discount.
3 Discount value - choose percentage or amount.
4 Select All customers.
5 Assign the minimum threshold amount or quantity. Then Save.
Free Gift - Buy X Get Y (Automatic )

Shopify Discounts:


1 Select Automatic Discount.
2 Add your label for the discount.
Customer spends:
3 Choose between quantity or amount. Assign value.
Customer gets:
4 Add the quantity for the gift/gifts. Use the search box to look for the gift item and add it.
5 Discount value - choose percentage, amount off, or totally free.
6 Set to All Customers and save.
If you want multiple rewards, click "Add Another". Slide Cart can showcase a total of 4 reward tiers.

FAQ
Can I setup multiple Free Gifts?
Yes, but with a caveat.
With how Shopify applies Buy X Get Y discounting, you will see that Free Gifts do not stack the way you think they do.
Example Intention:
$100 - A is Free
$200 - Item B is Free
At $200 I would think the customer should get a quantity of both A and B free.
However, because Shopify marks the basket of items that qualifies shopper for A & does not double count. Shopify will require another $200 in cart to qualify shopper for both A and B to be free.
Lets now say that A's original price is $50, B is $75. Assuming shopper has a basket of $200, Shopify always gives the shopper the best "Product Discount". If a quantity of both A and B exist in cart, Shopify will implement the discount such that B will be free over A. The same logic applies if there is another percentage product discount. The Product discount combination that saves the most $ will be the one that applies.
This is the normal way how Shopify would apply the logic in cart. However, we understand that there are special needs for certain merchants so we tried to figure out how to work our way around this. But before we lead you to the documentation, we'd like to emphasize on certain limitations that we have to be aware of.
Limitations
Key points to consider:
- If we follow the scenario above, you will be creating two separate Buy X Get Y AUTOMATIC discounts.
- For the first tier, you will include 1 gift item in the Customer Gets section. For the second tier, you will include the first gift item and the second gift item. (and so on depending on the gift tiers you want to offer)
- We strongly advise against creating additional product discounts at this point as this may cause the whole set up not to work. (For example, Buy X Get Y is a product discount and you create another Amount off Product discount say 10% off - this is still a product discount so they will have issues in cart when combined.)

Can Order Discounts be used with Free Gift (Buy X Get Y) discounts?
Yes, this is possible. We need to ensure that they're set up to combine in the Shopify Discounts level:

Just a gentle reminder once more: Free Gifts Products (both the free item and the items which qualify the cart for free gift) cannot stack with other Product discounts.
This means if a basket of goods X $200 qualifies the order for a Free Gift A. The items that comprise X cannot separately qualify for Product discounts.
