How do I upsell items with Slide Cart?
Our premium plans (Growth, Pro, and Enterprise) have an Upselling feature that enhances the shopping cart and boosts your conversion rate.
Help customers find products they love by recommending top-selling and related products directly from their shopping cart. Once your subscription is upgraded, setting up upsells is easy. The Slide Cart has two types of upsell: Basic and Advanced.
Make sure to only enable one of the following modules at once. They should not be enabled simultaneously.
Basic Upsells
The Basic upsell module will allow you to choose up to five products to display in the Slide Cart. These products will be displayed regardless of the product that the customer adds to the cart.
In the sidebar of the app's dashboard, click on Features, scroll down to the Upsell section, and add a new product. Make sure to enable the module and save your settings.
By default, Slide Cart will display the upsells in a carousel, but you can easily change this configuration in the app's dashboard if you would like to stack them. Simply check the option "Stack upsells instead of carousel".
Here you can see the difference between Carousel (Left) and Stacking (Right):

Advanced Upsells
The Advanced upsell feature will allow you to link two products, so when one is added to the cart, the other will display in the upsell section.
From the app's settings, tap on Features, scroll down until you see Advance Upsells, and to create your advance upsell:
- Select a new When (In Cart) product. This will be the trigger product; when this is added to the cart, the Upsell product will be displayed.
- Select the Upsell product. This will be the product displayed once the trigger product is added to the cart.
Don't forget to enable the module and save your settings.
If you would like to use Advanced in conjunction with Basic Upsells, please enable the option "Use basic upsells as a fallback" in the Advanced Upsells section:
This will display any items you have set up in the Basic upsell module when no Advanced upsell item has been added to the cart. Don't enable both modules at the same time, since the upsells might not work as expected.
The Advanced module also offers an API recommendation fallback option, which uses the Shopify API to recommend a product even if you have not created an upsell for the item in the cart.
Customization and Options.
Display upsell when already in cart: By default if an Upsell item is added to the cart, it is removed from the upsell module. With this option, you can keep the product in the module even after a customer has added it. This is especially useful for products with variants, and you would like to keep the option open for your customers to choose another variant.
Display Options: both the Basic and Advance module allows you to choose how you want to display your upsells to customers.
Option 1: Inside Cart (Default)
When you choose this option, your upsells will always appear on the cart, no matter the screen size.
Option 2: Next to Cart.
Allows you to take advantage of the full-screen real estate by displaying your upsells outside the cart when customers are browsing on their laptops/desktops. For a better shopping experience, when the screen gets too small, the upsells would default back to inside the cart.
Reorganize your upsells: you can also reorganize the order in which the upsell products are presented using the table's drag handles.
